Research Health Scientist
Constance Uphold, PhD, ARNP, FAAN, is a Health Scientist in the CINDRR, the VA GRECC Associate Director of Implementation and Outcomes Research and Associate Professor in the Department of Aging in the College of Medicine at the University of Florida. She has a broad background in health communications, family education, informatics, rehabilitation science, and implementation science methods and theories. Her graduate education from Pennsylvania State University and the University of Maryland is in geriatrics and family nursing. She is a well-funded VA researcher who is committed to improving the quality of life of Veterans and their family caregivers. Additionally, Dr. Uphold is an experienced family nurse practitioner and community health nurse. Her career goal is to use her clinical, educational, and research background to improve the healthcare of Veterans and their families by translating findings from her research into practice. Within the VA, she serves on the HSR&D Scientific Merit Review Board and the Offices of Nursing Service, Polytrauma Field Advisory Committee.
