Jennifer “Jai” Hale Gallardo, PhD, is a Health Science Specialist at the VA Center of Innovation on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (CINDRR-Gainesville).
Dr. Gallardo is a medical anthropologist. She is trained in qualitative research methodology and has many years of qualitative research on projects related to the social, cultural and environmental determinants of health. Her recent work focuses on community-based strategies for meeting long-term health and quality of life needs for Veterans with disabilities. Dr. Gallardo is currently working on two VA ORH-sponsored projects, leveraging community-based resources for Veterans with disabilities and disseminating health promotion materials for caregivers of Veterans with stroke. She also serves as co-investigator on an HSR&D-funded Merit Grant on a culturally adapted intervention for caregivers of Veterans with stroke.
