William E. Haley, PhD

Dr. Haley is a clinical psychologist who specializes in research on coping with chronic illness and disability by patients and their family caregivers. He is a Professor in the School of Aging Studies at the University of South Florida. His research includes study of the impact of illness and disability on quality of life in patients and family caregivers; use of stress and coping models to understand individual differences in adaptation to illness and disability; and longitudinal studies examining the effects of illness and disability on physical health, mental health, and quality of life. He also has expertise in the implementation and evaluation of psychoeducational and supportive interventions to improve well-being among family caregivers.
