Dr. Kearns is an investigator on the Smart Home project in Tampa's Polytrauma Transitional Rehabilitation Program. Bill received his PhD in psychology from the University of South Florida in 1989. He is faculty at the College of Behavioral and Community Sciences since 1990 and was Director of Information Technology for the college from 1992 to 2003. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Rehabilitation & Mental Health Counseling. His interests include the application of automation to improve care for persons with cognitive impairment.
